The following graphs are a comparison of median square footage of single family homes in Los Angeles.

Median Price per Square Footage Over Time shows the result of dividing median price by median square foot each month since 2012. We can see that each square feet in LA becomes rapidly more expensive, growing from under $200 in late 2011 to over $500 in 2024.

Median Square Footage Over Time shows the median square footage of single family homes per month, since 2012. While LA saw some slow growth in housing size, it peaked in 2019, and ever since we can observe a large decline, following a stagnation of housing size.
